There are many things a person can do if they want to get rid of their angry energy. These things are called “Anger Busters”. Some of these things are:
At home, you can make an Anger Center in your house. You can put some supplies in a laundry basket so you can go there when you need to get rid of your angry energy. I hope you will practice all of these things!
- It is perfectly okay to be angry.
- When someone gets angry their body fills up with angry energy. The person needs to get rid of their angry energy. There are appropriate and inappropriate ways to get rid of this angry energy.
- People can get rid of angry energy appropriately if they follow three anger rules: *Do not hurt others’ bodies or feelings. *Do not hurt yourself. *Do not break things.
- When we do not control our anger, it is like we are throwing a temper tantrum and people do not want to be around others that explode or do not control their anger.
- Not controlling our anger can look like a temper tantrum if we slam doors, throw things, say mean words to others, stomp around, etc. Even older kids, teenagers and adults throw temper tantrums if they do not control their anger appropriately.

- Close your eyes, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth 10 times
- Count to 20
- Tear a tissue into little bits over the trashcan
- Talk about your feelings
- Draw how you feel on piece of paper
- Punch a pillow
- Scream into a pillow
- Take a walk with a grown-up
- Scribble on a piece of paper
- Listen to music
- Jump rope or jump up and down
- Kick a ball outside
- Pound Play-Doh
