Kindness Counts at Lander
At Lander, we concentrate on being kind to others. We want the culture of Lander to be one of kindness and caring all day, every day.
We have a beautiful Kindness Box outside of my office!
When a child is "caught" doing something especially kind, an adult can fill out a kindness slip and place it in the Kindness Box. Every Monday, five acts of kindness will be randomly chosen to be read on the announcements. In addition to getting this recognition, their picture is taken by the "Be the I in Kind" banner and put on our school monitor in the main hallway. The best part is each Kindness Kid gets a free smoothie from the Pulp in Mayfield Heights courtesy of the Boscarellis.
We also have the "I Stood Up for a Lander Friend" program, Student of the Month, and Kindness Kid of the Month. Kindness Kid of the Month receives a free pizza courtesy of Zeppe's Pizza.
I visit classes throughout the year to teach empathy, conflict resolution, how to stand up for yourself and others, and what to do if someone says or does something unkind, etc.
As always, please email or call if you have any questions or if I can help you and your child have a successful school year!
